Sublet disclosure
Founder draft — pending UAE legal review before public launch.
UAE tenancy law treats subletting carefully. Before listing a room or shared unit on Hive Mate, please make sure you understand and comply with the rules below.
Landlord consent
Most tenancy contracts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi require written landlord consent before a tenant can sublet a room, partition a unit, or take on a flatmate. Listing without consent may be a contract breach and expose you to penalties, eviction, or deregistration from Ejari.
What Hive Mate requires
- A signed Ejari, tenancy contract, or title deed uploaded as property proof.
- A checkbox confirmation on every listing that you have permission to sublet the specific unit you are advertising.
- That the name on the property document matches your verified identity.
What Hive Mate cannot do
We do not act as your landlord, agent, or guarantor. We cannot give legal advice on your tenancy and we do not enforce sublet agreements between you and your landlord. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed UAE legal professional before listing if you are unsure.
